Who we are
Jara ("we", "us", "our") is a travel savings application operated by Jara Inc., based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. You can reach us at privacy@jaraapp.com.
What we collect
- Account information: Your name and email address when you sign up.
- Authentication data: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
- Trip data: Destinations, savings goals, amounts saved, and trip details you enter.
- Chat messages: Conversations with Jara AI to provide personalized savings coaching.
- Payment information: Handled entirely by Paddle — we never see or store your credit card details.
- Usage data: How you interact with the app, to improve your experience.
How we use it
- To provide and personalize the Jara savings experience.
- To power Jara AI's coaching responses.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send important account and product updates.
We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.
Third-party services
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure.
- Paddle — payment processing and subscription management.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI chat responses. Messages are processed but not stored by Anthropic for training without consent.
- Unsplash — destination photography.
- Google — optional sign-in via Google OAuth.
- Apple — optional sign-in via Apple Sign In (Sign in with Apple).
AI-Powered Features
Jara's AI coach is powered by Claude, an AI model created by Anthropic. When you use the AI chat feature, your conversation messages and trip savings data (including destination names, savings goals, amounts saved, and trip dates) are transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate personalized travel savings advice.
Anthropic processes this data solely to generate your response and does not use it to train AI models without your explicit consent. No personally identifiable information beyond what you type in the chat is included.
By using the AI chat feature, you consent to this data sharing. You may review Anthropic's privacy practices at privacy.anthropic.com.
Data storage & security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Email us at privacy@jaraapp.com to make a request.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we collect, use, and share
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Opt out of the sale of your personal data (we do not sell your data)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

Jara is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
